A Telegram channel reported that between April and August 2026, Malian military and Russian mercenaries from the «African Corps» conducted 47 airstrikes in Mali, resulting in the deaths of 94 civilians. Human Rights Watch documented a drone attack on a medical center and a strike on a cattle market, which killed six men and wounded at least 20 others.
Meanwhile, Pavel Prigozhin, son of Yevgeny Prigozhin, has reportedly maintained and expanded the Wagner PMC's activities in the Central African Republic (CAR), with business estimated to generate over $400 million annually. Approximately 500 mercenaries are said to control gold mines, guard the president, and fight rebels, while affiliated structures are also involved in arms and drug trafficking. Structures linked to Prigozhin Jr. are reportedly exporting gold to international markets, including Belarus, by declaring shipments as state property.
