Russian military bloggers claim Starlink issues reduced Ukrainian drone strikes on Crimea
Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 04:02 PM
Russian military correspondents reported that only one vehicle was hit by Ukrainian drones on the "land corridor" highway passing through occupied Mariupol and Melitopol over the past two days. Russian Z-channels linked this to Starlink issues, which Ukraine's Armed Forces (VSU) use to control drones.
Russian military bloggers claimed that Starlink service disruptions have led to a significant decrease in Ukrainian drone attacks targeting the highway connecting Rostov to Crimea, specifically in the areas of Mariupol and Melitopol. Ukraine has not confirmed the reduction in attacks but acknowledged that Starlink issues have impacted some of its operations.
