Russian MoD reportedly releases convict for war service; second case of its kind

A Telegram channel reported that Ruslan Shardakov, convicted in the contract killing of businessman Alexander Lukov, signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense and was conditionally released from further punishment. This is the second defendant in the case to be released for military service.

Roman Shirokov, accused of complicity in the same case, signed a contract in March 2025 and was killed in the war on June 6 of the same year before his trial.
