Russian service of Radio Liberty reported that 33 air defense positions have been installed around the Alabuga special economic zone, where Geran/Shahed-type attack drones are produced. Satellite imagery from October 21 shows concrete towers for air defense systems and new sites for Pantsir or Tor complexes built since spring 2026.

The area also has towers with anti-drone machine guns and structures for tensioning anti-drone nets over production buildings. Ukrainian drones last reached Alabuga in June 2025.
