A local historian and author, Ihor Hulko, stated that half of Sloviansk's architectural landmarks have been damaged due to Russian shelling during the full-scale invasion. He noted that the city's hospital, originally designed for 30 beds but capable of holding 60, had separate wards for men, women, syphilis patients, an operating room, and a maternity ward.
Specific incidents mentioned include damage to the surgical building of the city hospital on Taras Shevchenko Street in September 2026, the "Drukarskyi Dvir" in August, and the Smirnov house by an airstrike in the spring.
