Russian ZALA Z-16 Drones Monitor Ukrainian Forces and Control Strikes in September
A Telegram post from September reportedly shows the ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance drone system actively used in the zone of the special military operation (SVO). The system reportedly provided intelligence, target designation, and strike control, with increased coordination with air force crews. It monitored enemy supply routes, warehouses, drone control points, and command posts coordinating Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU) actions.
The Z-16 reportedly provided coordinates to strike units and offered continuous assessment of air and artillery strikes for command decisions. It also worked with 'Lancet' loitering munitions operators for precise strikes and control. The system focused on logistics nodes, supply routes, vehicles, and pickups, utilizing its high-resolution video, thermal imager, and intelligent system for target identification even in camouflage or poor visibility.
