Saudi Arabia Refuses Israeli Military Aircraft After Flydubai Emergency Landing

Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 06:52 AM

Saudi Arabia denied a request from Israel to send military aircraft, specifically C-130J transports, to collect passengers following an emergency landing of a Flydubai plane in Tabuk. The two nations do not have diplomatic relations. Passengers eventually departed on a replacement Flydubai civilian aircraft.

Saudi Arabia provided emergency landing facilities and treated injured pilots but declined the use of Israeli military aircraft. Passengers arrived at Ben Gurion airport over 10 hours after their original departure time. Prime Minister Netanyahu met the passengers upon arrival.
