Senior Sergeant Andriy Kovalenko (call sign "Antratsyt") was killed on May 18, 2022, near Malyi Veselyi in the Kharkiv region during a fierce battle with Russian forces. Kovalenko, who had served in the Ukrainian Armed Forces (ZSU) since 2016, had previously defended Kyiv and fought in the Kharkiv region.

Kovalenko was born in 1980 in Poltava region and found his calling in the military after working in Kyiv. He defended Ukraine in the east, including in Marinka, in 2015. His unit engaged Russian troops for over five hours before he sustained a fatal shrapnel wound. His body could not be evacuated for a long time due to shelling. His identity was confirmed by DNA analysis, and he was buried in his native village on May 5, 2023.
