Soldier Vitaliy Zaporozhan, callsign Odesa, was killed on January 22, 2024, near the village of Heorhiivka, Donetsk Oblast. He sustained a fatal wound from a munition dropped by an enemy UAV. Zaporozhan was 46 years old.

Born in Prymorske, Odesa Oblast, Zaporozhan worked as a builder before joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine in August 2022. He initially served in the 124th Territorial Defense Brigade before being transferred to the 46th Airmobile Brigade as a rifleman. His sister described him as a kind and supportive person. He was posthumously awarded the Order For Courage III Class.
