A Syrian official, Al-Alabi, stated that Syria has chosen mediation and dialogue and engaged in good faith with an American initiative. He asserted that Syria is working intensively with civil society and came to New York a year prior to present its future aspirations to the international community. Al-Alabi also claimed that Syrian government efforts have led to the return of millions of refugees and displaced persons.

Al-Alabi accused Israel of infiltrating Syrian villages, displacing residents, and bombing Syrian facilities. He further stated that Israel evaded diplomatic commitments, responding to dialogue with raids, incursions, aggressions, and violations.
