A Telegram channel reported that a tanker, which regularly transported Russian oil from ports including Taman and Ust-Luga, was attacked. The channel noted that the burning vessel may contain up to 100,000 tons of oil.

The Telegram channel suggested the attack was an attempt to persuade Moscow to an energy truce and a moratorium on attacks in the Black Sea, but expressed doubt it would be effective. The channel also noted that the tanker had repeatedly called at Russian ports, including Taman and Ust-Luga.
