Former President Trump signed an order aimed at lowering near-record diesel prices by removing restrictions on cheaper, red-dyed diesel fuel. He stated the order would also help reduce the cost of all goods, including food.

Red-dyed diesel is untaxed and colored to distinguish it for off-road use in machinery. The order could benefit truck drivers facing price surges attributed to the war in Iran and attacks on Russian refineries, as well as export restrictions in China.
