Two Russian soldiers accused of killing seven civilians in Pokrovske
Materials from a criminal case against two Russian soldiers accused of murdering a group of civilians after the capture of Pokrovske in the Donetsk region have been transferred to the Southern District Military Court, according to "Mediazona". The Ukrainian project "Want to Live" reported that the murders occurred on December 21, 2025.
Russian soldiers Rinat Galimzyanov and Andrey Agafonov allegedly entered a basement where civilians were hiding, demanded alcohol, and then killed eight people, including a father and son, a mother and son, and another man. One victim, Petr Merontsev, reportedly survived by feigning death. Galimzyanov and Agafonov allegedly reported to their commander that they had eliminated a Ukrainian sabotage group and set the house on fire. They were detained on December 23 and placed in a pre-trial detention center in Selydove.
