Ukraine was among the top three most targeted countries by hackers in the first half of 2026, according to a Microsoft report. Ukraine accounted for 4.8% of global cyberattacks, with analysts noting that 14% of all state-sponsored attacks by Russia were directed at Ukrainian systems.

In July 2025, hackers reportedly tested a new class of malware called LAMEHUG, which utilizes AI large language models, against Ukrainian systems for the first time. For comparison, the United States was the top target with 25.5%, and Israel was second with 7.6%.
