Among those returned are fighters from the Azov regiment, many of whom had been held captive since 2022. Zelensky stated that many of the returned individuals were unlawfully convicted in Russia.
Five individuals who were believed to have died during a Russian attack on Olenivka in July 2022 are among those returning. Photos were shared on Telegram by Zelensky.
