Ukraine builds defenses for 43 energy sites amid Russian attacks
Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 05:27 AM
Ukraine is continuing to build defensive structures for energy facilities in Poltava Oblast. Russian attacks are damaging other electricity infrastructure, including those providing distributed generation, meaning protection for individual sites does not guarantee uninterrupted power.
The head of the Poltava Oblast Military Administration, Vitaliy Diakivnych, stated that Poltava is expected to have its own generation capacity of approximately 650 megawatts within the next one to two years.
