Ukraine expects to receive Gripen fighter jets in the near future, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced after meeting with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on the sidelines of an EU leaders' summit. Zelensky stated that the Gripens would complement Ukraine's F-16s, particularly for intercepting Shahed drones.
Ukraine and Sweden signed an agreement on June 30 for the purchase of 16 Gripen fighter jets.
