Ukraine's Border Guard Service: Belarus Aids Russian Drone Attacks on Ukraine
A spokesperson for Ukraine's State Border Guard Service (GPUS), Andriy Demchenko, stated that Belarus is assisting Russia by enabling drone incursions into Ukrainian territory. He claimed that signal repeaters activated in Belarus are used to guide Russian Shahed and Geran drones, allowing them to penetrate deeper into Ukraine, including western regions. Demchenko cited an attack targeting the Yahodyn border crossing point as an example of this support.
In response to these threats, Poland has begun installing an electronic protection system along over 100 kilometers of its border with Ukraine. Warsaw also intends to enhance existing systems on its borders with Russia and Belarus by deploying towers equipped with electro-optical sensors and drone detection technology.
