Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 03:30 PM

According to Ukrainian official Sybiga, approximately 1700 people remain trapped in Oleshky, which has been devastated by Russian forces. The only available exit route is reportedly mined and monitored by attack drones, and the nearby river is also mined.

Sybiga stated that people cannot survive on expressions of concern alone and urgently need a way to leave the area. Local residents reportedly doubt they will survive the winter.
