Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) and National Police have reportedly uncovered two agents of Russia's FSB in Zaporizhzhia who were tasked with carrying out assassinations. The two individuals, aged 18 and 19, were allegedly recruited for financial gain and initially carried out arson attacks before being instructed to plan the murders of Ukrainian military personnel.

According to reports, the agents communicated with their FSB handler via messenger apps and used fake female social media accounts to lure military personnel to designated meeting spots for the planned attacks. Law enforcement apprehended the suspects during the preparation phase of these crimes. During searches, authorities seized communication devices, a knife, a traumatic pistol with ammunition, and a hand grenade with a fuse, all of which have been sent for expert examination.
