A report from Suspilne Kharkiv states that Fedir Kachan, a staff sergeant with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, was listed as missing as of April 12, 2025. A farewell ceremony was held for him in the Velykoburlutska community on May 23 of the same year.

The report noted Kachan was a dedicated nationalist and comrade-in-arms who did not break, retreat, or betray. He previously served in the Simferopol Border Detachment in 2013-2014, guarding the border in Crimea and Sevastopol, and participated in the ATO. After the Russian Federation's invasion, he joined the defense of Ukraine.
