Anatoliy Bashayev, a 47-year-old defender of Ukraine, was killed on June 8 while performing a combat mission in Donetsk Oblast. Bashayev was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in March 2026 and served as a driver in a mechanized battalion.

Bashayev and his family were forced to leave their hometown of Enerhodar after its occupation. He is remembered for his service and sacrifice for Ukraine.
