Opposition lawmakers in Slovakia are demanding explanations from the government and a Security Council meeting after a German newspaper reported that Russian intelligence may be behind an attempted arson at a facility of the Ukrainian defense company Skyeton near Presov. "It is absolutely unacceptable that we are learning about a Russian trace in an attack in Slovakia in this way, and not from the head of government," stated Tomas Valasek, a deputy from the opposition Progressive Slovakia party.

Valasek added that Prime Minister Fico has refused to defend Slovakia, and Progressive Slovakia is calling on him to address the public. If a Russian connection is confirmed, the party demands immediate accountability for the Russian Federation, including the expulsion of all Russian intelligence officers operating in the country under diplomatic cover.
