Ukrainian footballer reportedly detained by military enlistment office, surrendered to Rus
A Ukrainian footballer, Yegor Azbukin, was reportedly detained by representatives of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) while walking with a stroller and taken to a military enlistment office. Azbukin, who previously played for clubs in Ukraine's First League, stated in a video released by Russia's Ministry of Defense that he was stopped and checked against a database. He was subsequently conscripted into military service despite reported vision problems.
After undergoing training and serving in a rear unit, Azbukin was transferred to guard vehicles in the Sumy Oblast. He admitted to intentionally acting out to avoid service. His position was reportedly discovered by Russian forces, and Azbukin surrendered after getting lost in a forest.
