Ukrainian forces reportedly struck the Kuybyshevsky refinery in Russia's Samara region and the Bashneft-UNPZ refinery in Ufa, Bashkortostan, on the night of September 22. Multiple drones hit the Kuybyshevsky facility, causing a fire, according to a report from the General Staff.

The General Staff confirmed the strike on the Kuybyshevsky refinery in the Samara region. On the night of September 22, Deep Strike units of the Special Operations Forces, together with SBS and HUR, launched a drone strike on the plant. Several drones reached their targets, and a fire broke out at the enterprise. The forces also struck the Bashneft-UNPZ in Ufa, Bashkortostan, where a fire was recorded. The enterprise's capacity is about 7.5 million tons of oil processing per year.
