Monday, October 19, 2026 at 07:41 AM
Ukrainian forces reportedly struck five of eight buildings at the Energetik data center complex on the outskirts of Vladimir, Vladimir Oblast, on October 11, 2026, according to a satellite image. Three buildings are believed to have sustained critical damage, though the final extent requires confirmation.
The strike targeted Yandex data centers, reportedly used for military purposes, in retaliation for Russian aggression. The potential damage to the "Galushkin" supercomputer, used for YandexGPT and the "Alice" voice assistant, is of particular note. The full impact on computing infrastructure and services is still under assessment.
