Ukrainian GUR Special Unit 'Timur' Recognized for Actions in Zaporizhzhia
A Telegram channel reported that fighters from the "Timur Special Unit" of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) were recognized for their combat actions on the Zaporizhzhia front. The commander of the "Timur Special Unit" and the commander of the 128th Heavy Mechanized Brigade "Wild Field" jointly awarded soldiers who are performing combat missions side-by-side in Zaporizhzhia, according to the GUR.
The "Timur Special Unit" is described as one of the most experienced GUR units, with past operations including actions in Crimea, the liberation of Snake Island and the "Boyko towers", and fighting in Bakhmut and Avdiivka. The 128th Heavy Mechanized Brigade "Wild Field" has participated in operations in Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions.
