Ukrainian journalists Mykhailo Tkach and Yaroslav Bondarenko of "Ukrainska Pravda" were released in Vienna after being detained on suspicion of espionage. Tkach was held for about 12 hours, while Bondarenko was released later. The Vienna prosecutor's office stated that the suspicions against them were not confirmed.
The journalists were reportedly gathering material in Vienna concerning the whereabouts of former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko, who left the country shortly before his dismissal. According to Der Standard, two other Ukrainians, considered by authorities to be military intelligence officers, remain under arrest in Austria until October 21.
