A police officer from the KORD special forces unit, Senior Sergeant Andriy Zubenko, was killed on September 22 while performing a combat mission in Donetsk Oblast. Zubenko had served in law enforcement for over 25 years before retiring in 2018. He rejoined the fight after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, joining a police regiment in Kyiv Oblast and engaging Russian forces in the Kramatorsk direction.

Zubenko was killed at the age of 51 by an enemy airstrike with an aerial bomb on his combat position. He was a shooter in the special police unit 'Rapid Response Corps' of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv Oblast.
