A Ukrainian Mirage 2000-5 fighter jet reportedly downed a Russian S8000 "Banderol" cruise missile using its onboard cannon, according to an observer from "French Aid to Europe." France has allegedly supplied Ukraine with four such fighter jets.

The Mirage 2000-5 is equipped with two 30mm DEFA 554 automatic cannons, each with a 125-round ammunition load. The Russian S8000 "Banderol" is described as a hybrid between a cruise missile and a drone, with a reported maximum speed of 620-650 km/h and a range of up to 500 km. It is powered by a Chinese Swiwin turbojet engine and carries a 114 kg high-explosive fragmentation warhead.
