The Ukrainian Navy reported that six Su-34M bomber aircraft were destroyed by Neptune missiles at the Borisoglebsk airfield on the night of October 15. The strike also reportedly destroyed technical equipment for flight support, and secondary detonations and a fire were observed on the airfield.

The Navy stated that Su-34M aircraft can carry multiple guided and unguided bombs, as well as various types of missiles, and are used by Russian forces to attack Ukrainian defense positions and frontline settlements.
