Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 01:50 PM
Residents of occupied Oleshky are leaving the city on foot, bicycles, and mopeds due to a shortage of food, water, and medicine, according to Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets. A video shared on October 3 shows people risking landmines as they attempt to find essential supplies.
Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets stated that residents face a choice between staying and dying of hunger or leaving and risking stepping on mines. He urged international partners to help ensure safe passage for civilians.
