A 68-year-old woman, Iryna Kulishova, was killed on August 14, 2026, in Nikopol, Ukraine, by fragments from a Russian drone attack. The attack occurred after her neighbor's house caught fire due to an earlier Russian shelling, and she was attempting to help extinguish the blaze.

Kulishova, a crane operator at "Interpipe Nikotube" for nearly 40 years, had returned to Nikopol after initially evacuating to western Ukraine following the full-scale Russian invasion. Her niece described her as a helpful and life-loving individual. She is survived by two sisters and several nieces and nephews.
