Monday, October 19, 2026 at 05:26 PM

A Russian strike on the central park of the village of Nova Vodolaha in the Kharkiv region killed five people, including two children, and wounded 15, according to local officials. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the attack as "absolute brutality," noting that a one-year-old girl and her mother were among the dead.

The strike occurred while the park was crowded with people, including families with children. Nova Vodolaha is located southwest of Kharkiv, dozens of kilometers from the front line.
