A Ukrainian serviceman was sentenced to 13 years in prison for a fatal terrorist act in the Zhytomyr region. The soldier, who had deserted his military unit, agreed to carry out a task for a Russian handler for money via Telegram. He manufactured an explosive device and planted it at a cemetery, which was then remotely detonated, killing another soldier. Law enforcement apprehended him the night after the explosion in Zhytomyr Oblast.

The court found the man guilty on three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
