A 38-year-old Ukrainian soldier, Ihor Trush, was killed on October 18, 2024, during a combat mission in the city of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region. He was hit by enemy mortar fire. His brother, Roman, also died in the same incident.

Ihor Trush was born on June 15, 1986, in the village of Novosilky-Oparski in Lviv region. He served as a driver in the machine gun platoon of the fire support company of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. His wife described him as a sincere, kind, loving husband and father. He was posthumously awarded the "Cross of the Hero" order.
