Ukrainian soldier Mykola Skakovsky killed in action in Mala Tokmachka
A report from Ukrainska Pravda and the Memorial platform states that 40-year-old Mykola Skakovsky, also known by the call sign "Schik", was killed on June 17, 2023, during a counteroffensive in the village of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Skakovsky was the platoon's chief sergeant in the 47th Mechanized Brigade "Magura".
Born in Zviahel, Zhytomyr Oblast, Skakovsky worked as a builder in Kyiv before joining the military after the full-scale Russian invasion. His wife, Lyubov, described him as a "kind, loving husband and father" and "a responsible commander who stood up for his own." He was posthumously awarded the "Best Sergeant" badge and buried in Zviahel. He is survived by his parents, brother, wife, and two daughters.
