A Telegram post reported that Ukrainian soldier Oleksiy Lavryk was killed on October 7, 2024, by a Russian KAB strike in the city of Sloviansk. Lavryk, who worked as a driver-mechanic in civilian life, joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine (ZSU) in September 2022.

Lavryk initially defended the Siversk direction as part of the 46th Separate Mechanized Brigade 'Donbas' and later served in the technical support platoon of the 54th Mechanized Brigade due to health reasons. He had two daughters and was described as a loving father.
