A Ukrainian soldier, Oleksandr Rudnytskyi, described his unit holding a position in a village on the border of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions for nearly six months. He reported that a drone carrying supplies was shot down by Russian forces near their house.

Rudnytskyi also touched upon why the soldiers were not replaced for six months, how they survived nearly a day under shelling of their house, and encountered Russian assault troops about a hundred meters from their position. The report also covers their survival without proper communication, water, or the ability to wash, and what proved to be the most difficult aspect of those six months.
