Ukrainian soldier Yevheniy Brach reportedly killed near Enerhodar
The Poltava Regional Military Administration, in conjunction with the Memorial platform, is honoring the memory of fallen defenders from Poltava region. Machine gunner Yevheniy Brach, call sign 'Mali', was killed on September 21, 2022, during a combat mission near the city of Enerhodar in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Yevheniy Brach was born in Mashivka, Poltava Oblast, and spent his childhood in the village of Selechyna. After the 9th grade, he enrolled in the Poltava College of Food Technology, where he trained as a master technician for refrigeration units. He later studied at the National University of Food Technologies and participated in the Revolution of Dignity. He did not finish university, instead moving to Poland to pursue his long-held desire to join the French Foreign Legion. He successfully completed all trials and was accepted into the French Armed Forces in September 2015, serving as a corporal and receiving several commendations before his service ended in September 2020. He remained in the reserve of the French Foreign Legion, living and working in France, where he maintained a YouTube channel and was an active Instagram blogger. At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Yevheniy returned to Ukraine to defend his homeland, joining the 'Tradition and Order' volunteer battalion. In the summer of 2022, he underwent training in Great Britain before being accepted into the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
