A Telegram post reported that 35-year-old Senior Soldier Yuriy Kovtutskyi was killed on October 27, 2023, in the village of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia Oblast. He sustained a fatal wound during a mortar attack while assisting a comrade. For 10 months, he was considered missing.

Yuriy was born on June 3, 1988, in the village of Severynivka, Vinnytsia Oblast. He graduated from the Zhmerynka Higher Vocational School and worked at a car repair plant. After the full-scale invasion, Yuriy served as a senior driver-mechanic in the 14th Operational Brigade of the National Guard named after Ivan Bohun, known as "Chervona Kalyna." He was posthumously awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree. He is survived by his parents, wife, children, and sister.
