Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 08:06 PM

Ukraine's metallurgical industry produced no steel last month due to Russian missile strikes that destroyed nearly all operational blast furnaces, according to Oleksandr Kalenkov, president of the Ukrmetallurgprom association. Kalenkov stated that before the war, Ukraine's annual steel production exceeded 42 million tons.

Kalenkov recalled that Ukraine's annual steel output before the war was over 42 million tons, compared to the entire European Union's production of 125 million tons last year.
