Ukrainian tank gunner Vladyslav Bukovetskyi killed near Chasiv Yar
A Ukrainian tank gunner, Vladyslav Bukovetskyi, was killed near Chasiv Yar on August 30, 2023, from a life-incompatible wound. Bukovetskyi was born on August 6, 2003, in Shpola, Cherkasy region. After ninth grade, he enrolled in the Vasylkiv educational complex, where he obtained a mechanic's qualification. At 18, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
He served in Severodonetsk, Kharkiv, Bakhmut, and Kramatorsk. As part of a tank unit, Vlad worked as a gunner. His rare visits home were a breath of fresh air for his family. His mother remembers vividly how on December 31, 2021, she was taking out the trash and suddenly heard his voice in the yard. She dropped the bucket and ran to meet him – and her son stood at the threshold with a large bouquet. On August 29, 2023, around nine in the evening, he called his mother from his position, but the connection was lost.
