Yuliia Kyrylo from Trostyanets, Sumy region, documented her experience during the Russian occupation in February-March 2022. She described hiding from shelling, baking bread with soda, and burying neighbors who did not reach shelters.
A quote from Yuliia's diary states: 'If we had managed to get to the shelter in time, there would probably have been victims... A terrible scream and cry pierced to the very heart. In the entrance next to ours, two people died at once - 14-year-old Maksym and an elderly woman, Valentyna.' Trostyanets, located in the Sumy region, was among the first cities entered by Russian troops in February 2022, drastically altering the lives of its residents.
