The US has officially concluded its 12-year Operation "Inherent Resolve," with the Pentagon announcing the withdrawal of its last units and equipment from Erbil airbase. Residents of Baghdad reportedly celebrated the departure with fireworks and car rallies.

Former President Trump criticized the current administration's withdrawal, contrasting it with the situation in Afghanistan where he claimed equipment was abandoned and 13 US soldiers died. The US expects Iraq to independently address security issues and combat ISIS remnants.
