Woman dies from plague in Russia's Irkutsk region

A 28-year-old woman, who worked as a laboratory assistant at the Irkutsk Research Anti-Plague Institute of Siberia and the Far East, has died from plague in Russia's Irkutsk region, according to local media. Preliminary data suggests she accidentally broke a vial containing the infection and died in the hospital two days later.
Approximately 200 Russians who had contact with her have also been hospitalized.
