Woman Released After 24 Days of Arrest in Russia
Elena Morgunova, wife of artist Pavel Krisevich, was released from a temporary detention center in Skopine on September 21 after serving 24 days of arrest. Morgunova was arrested twice in August and September. On August 28, she was sentenced to 10 days for refusing to unblock Telegram during a document check.
On September 7, Elena was arrested again for 14 days for refusing a medical examination. Before her release, a detention center employee took her to an operative who offered to conduct tests. Morgunova asked to wait for her lawyer, but this was considered a refusal. According to Morgunova, FSB officers who visited her at the temporary detention center asked how much time she needed to leave Russia and gave her three days to depart. A girl accused of financing terrorism for reacting to a paid post in a Telegram channel was also brought to the detention center.
