A 67-year-old woman reportedly evacuated from occupied Oleshky after a week-long journey, reaching Kyiv. The woman left the city, where she had lived throughout the occupation, a week ago. During this time, she lost her apartment due to a strike, her husband's house after the Kakhovka HES explosion, and another family home due to a drone strike.

According to her daughter, the woman was more concerned about the nearly 30 dogs and cats she had sheltered than herself, as food shortages led to animals disappearing from the yard. To escape the occupation, the woman walked over 20 kilometers through mined roads, which are constantly under drone attack. She then spent another week reaching Ukrainian-controlled territory by various means.
