Zelensky discusses Ukraine support, new sanctions with European Council President
Ukrainian President Zelensky discussed support for Ukraine and new sanctions with European Council President Charles Michel. Zelensky emphasized that 78 people were killed and 215 wounded in Russian attacks on Pryluky, Kramatorsk, Kyiv, and other cities in recent days.
The parties also discussed the schedule for opening the next negotiation clusters, the energy package for winter, and further financial support. Zelensky thanked for the €1.2 billion tranche, which Ukraine received the day before. The funds will be directed to defense, including the purchase of drones. In the near future, Zelensky plans to meet with Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. He also informed the President of the European Council about the upcoming contacts of the Ukrainian team with the American side.
