Zelenskyy Addresses Russian Strike Preparations, Calls for Air Defense Support
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stated that intelligence indicates Russia is preparing for a massive strike and urged citizens to heed air raid sirens. He emphasized Ukraine's need for additional air defense systems, highlighting the crucial role of political will from partners like the US and Europe in their transfer. Zelenskyy also announced Ukraine's intention to increase its electronic warfare capabilities to protect critical infrastructure, noting that electronic warfare systems are effective in neutralizing many Russian Shahed drones.
The attack on the civilian vessels in Bulgarian waters, resulting in one sinking and another damaged, was attributed to a combined Russian drone assault. President Zelenskyy's address also touched upon Ukraine's plans to bolster its electronic warfare capabilities and enhance its long-range strike potential for the next year, stressing the need for partner support in air defense.
